Antique store M.S. Rau expands with out-of-state pop-up gallery

Aspen M.S. Rau [see the SlideDeck] M.S. Rau, the 112-year-old fine art, antique and jewelry gallery, plans to open a seasonal popup in Aspen, Colorado. Slated for a June 6 opening, the seasonal gallery will be located in an historic building at 228 South Mill St. in downtown Aspen and operate through the end of September. M.S. Rau Aspen will showcase a variety of museum-quality offerings, including historic jewelry, fine art, antiques, and objet d’art, including pieces from Van Cleef & Arpels, Cartier and Harry Winston as well as works by Renoir, Picasso and Magritte. “We have long admired Aspen’s thriving art scene and its vibrant summer season, which attracts discerning collectors from around the globe. This location aligns perfectly with our clientele, offering an opportunity to showcase our world-class collection to a new audience,” Aspen resident Andrew Fields, president of M.S. Rau, said in a news release. This will be the second location for the Royal Street headquartered gallery, which at 40,000-square-feet holds the distinction of being the largest antiques business in North America. M.S. Rau Aspen will also host special on-site events and exhibitions in conjunction with local cultural events like the Food & Wine Festival, Aspen Ideas Festival and Aspen Art Week.
